March 20 marked the National Sports Day.

At Kunaev University, a large-scale relay race featuring national games was held as part of the Nauryznama decade, dedicated to National Sports Day. A total of 16 teams from across the university took part in the event. Students of 1st to 3rd years, along with their academic advisors, showed great enthusiasm and active participation.

During the relay, participants competed in various activities including tug of war, traditional asyk games, darts, skipping rope races, and hula hoop challenges. The competition concluded with a team volleyball final.

According to the results:
🥇 1st place — “China” team (curator: Nurdaulet Zulfia)
🥈 2nd place — “Zhalyn” team (curator: Ilesbek Ayat)
🥉 3rd place — “Elita” team (curator: Zhazira Dauletkyzy)

Special recognition was also given to outstanding teams:
🏆 “DarynTime” team (curator: Daryn Azatuly) — for best relay and volleyball performance
🏆 “Zhalyn” team (curator: Ilesbek Ayat) — for high-level performance

It is worth noting that Nauryz is a traditional celebration symbolizing renewal and unity, while Nauryznama is a ten-day series of events aimed at promoting national values. National Sports Day holds a significant place within this framework.

In this regard, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of national sports:
“National sports are an integral part of our cultural identity and spiritual heritage. Their development plays a crucial role in educating the younger generation.”

The event held at Konaev University not only promoted a healthy lifestyle among students but also increased interest in traditional games and strengthened team spirit.
