The history and main tasks of the military department at Konaev University

According to the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 433 dated April 26, 2024, a military department was established at Konaev University. Reserve colonel Kairat Boranbayuly Smagulov was appointed the first head of the military department. Currently, work is being organized at the military department at Konaev University to prepare a military training reserve. The military department takes a special place among the structural departments of Konaev University and plans to give university graduates an important profession for every citizen of a sovereign state - a defender of the Motherland.

Training in the military department is carried out in the following military accounting specialties:

According to the programs of reserve officers (study period - 2 years):

1. Combat use of general military units, divisions, and formations.

2. Organization of educational and ideological work in ground troops.

3. Work of the legal council.

According to the programs of reserve sergeants (study period - 1 year):

1. Riflemen (unit commander).

2. Combined types of material support. The purpose of military training of students: - training of reserve officers for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other troops and military units; - training of brave defenders of the Motherland who are capable of fulfilling their duties in primary officer (sergeant) positions during the war, selflessly devoted to the people of Kazakhstan and its legally elected President.
