Information about science
For 30 years Kunayev University has achieved significant results in the field of science. Much attention is paid to the scientific life of teachers, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates. Every year the University organizes and conducts international and republican scientific-theoretical, scientific-practical conferences, forums, seminars, symposiums, round tables, and academic competitions.
The University publishes two republican scientific journals, "Bulletin of Kunayev University" and "Kazakhstan Journal of International Law", issued 4 times a year (quarterly). The journal "Bulletin of Kunayev University" has been published since February 1999. "Kazakhstan Journal of International Law" has been published since February 2000.
From 2001 to 2010 the University had a Joint Dissertation Council for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations. In this council 187 candidate and 18 doctoral dissertations were successfully defended. In 2018, a doctoral program was opened and currently more than ten doctoral students have successfully completed their doctoral studies.
The teaching staff conducts fundamental and applied scientific research funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other ministries and departments, as well as at the expense of the University's own funds, commercialization of the results of scientific activities.
The results of the research work of the University teaching staff are published in the form of monographs, textbooks, manuals. The results of R&D are used in the educational process. For 30 years, the University has a positive trend of increasing the number of scientific developments implemented in the educational process.
In order to recognize and confirm the relevance and novelty of R&D results, the University departments carry out the process of publishing scientific articles in internationally cited journals.
Kunayev University is a member of the Kazakhstan Criminological Association.
Membership of the University scientists in branch academies of sciences and international professional associations contributes to obtaining the necessary scientific information, as well as provides an opportunity to participate in various scientific forums.
A necessary tool for integration into the international educational community, search for foreign partners and new projects is the participation of the University faculty in international symposiums, conferences and seminars, exhibitions, competitions, academic competitions, festivals, etc.
The teaching staff of the University takes an active part in the competitions held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of RoK, such as for the title of "Best Teacher of the Year", as well as held by Academic Methodological Association for the group of majors "Law" in the nomination "Best Textbook of the Year", "Best Professor of the Year" "Best Associate Professor of the Year" and others.
Scientific research work of students, masters, doctoral students is an integral part of the educational process and serves as an effective means of improving the level of professional training of competitive specialists.
The University annually organizes scientific-theoretical international and national conferences for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as scientific round tables, seminars, subject academic competitions.
The most common form of students' participation in R&D are student scientific circles and clubs.
An important indicator of the effectiveness of research and development is the active participation of undergraduate and graduate students of the University in annual international and national student scientific conferences, academic competitions held both at the University and in other universities of Kazakhstan and abroad.
The University pays great attention to the issue of international cooperation in the field of scientific research. To date, the University has agreements on international cooperation and academic mobility with more than 20 universities, including Germany, China, Singapore, Latvia, Turkey, Poland, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, and others.
The management and teaching staff of the University are interested in establishing international contacts with foreign scientists to exchange experience and conduct joint research and development activities.
