Kunaev University took part in the International Conference on Industry-Education-Research-Application Cooperation “Silk Road 2026,” held on May 22 in Xi’an, People’s Republic of China. During the event, the Joint China-Kazakhstan Industry-Education-Research Cooperation Center for the Rule of Law (Arbitration), established with the participation of Kunaev University, was officially inaugurated.

The Center was founded jointly by the Belt and Road Culture Research Institute and the Xi’an Arbitration Commission and will operate on the basis of Kunaev University. Its mission is to promote academic research, educational programs, and practical cooperation in the fields of law and arbitration, while strengthening collaboration between educational and legal institutions of Kazakhstan and China.

The establishment of the Center creates new opportunities for training highly qualified professionals, implementing joint research projects, and facilitating the exchange of expertise between specialists from both countries. The initiative is also expected to contribute to the development of trade and economic relations and to the legal support of international cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Zhazira Omirali, Rector of Kunaev University, Gan Hui, Director of the Belt and Road Culture Research Institute, and Li Hongtao, Chairman of the Xi’an Arbitration Commission.

The “Silk Road 2026” Conference brought together representatives of government agencies, universities, research institutions, and business communities from various countries. The forum aimed to promote international cooperation and deepen the integration of education, science, industry, and practice.

The conference also featured the presentation of the scholarly monograph “From Chang’an to Yerevan: Echoes of the Silk Road,” jointly prepared by the Belt and Road Culture Research Institute and the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University of Armenia. The publication represents one of the significant outcomes of international academic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Kunaev University’s participation in international projects reaffirms its commitment to expanding global partnerships, advancing research collaboration, and strengthening Kazakhstan’s position in the international higher education landscape.
