From February 23 to 27, Университет Кунаева had the honor of hosting Сауыт Ракымжан, Doctor of Law and Professor at Shaanxi Normal University, who was invited to deliver a series of guest lectures.
During his visit, Professor Rakymzhan presented a special lecture entitled “China’s System of Ethnic Regional Autonomy: Effective Protection of the Rights of Ethnic Minorities.” The lecture was attended by faculty members, master’s students, and undergraduates of the University. In his presentation, the Professor provided a comprehensive overview of the theoretical and practical foundations of China’s ethnic policy, highlighting the legal mechanisms ensuring the protection of ethnic minority rights, and answered numerous questions from the audience.
In addition, the Professor held a discussion with university staff on political and economic cooperation and the protection of international rights within the framework of the Шанхайская организация сотрудничества. Particular attention was paid to promoting academic mobility, talent exchange, and cooperation among countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
As part of the official program, the Professor met with the President of the University, Omrali Shakarapuly, and the Rector, Zhazira Omraliyevna. The parties discussed prospects for strengthening partnerships, implementing joint research and educational projects, and further deepening cooperation between the two universities.
Professor Rakymzhan’s visit marked an important step in advancing the international cooperation of Университет Кунаева, contributing to the expansion of academic ties and the strengthening of scholarly dialogue.
