International Round Table on “International Legal Issues of Cooperation among SCO Member States in the Field of Customs, Border Affairs and Economic Cooperation”.
On February 26, 2026, an international round table entitled “International Legal Issues of Cooperation among SCO Member States in the Field of Customs, Border Affairs and Economic Cooperation” was held at Kunaev University.
The event brought together members of the university’s academic staff as well as an invited guest from the People’s Republic of China — Professor Sauyt Raqymzhan of Shaanxi Pedagogical University.
During the meeting, participants discussed pressing international legal issues in the field of customs regulation, ways to improve border cooperation, and prospects for economic integration of member states within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening legal mechanisms of interaction among SCO countries in the context of modern geo-economic challenges.
Presentations were delivered by Doctor of Law, Professor Sailaubek Tynyshbekovich Alibekov; Doctor of Law, Professor Orozbay Zhusupbaevich Samatov; Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Ainagul Yermekovna Ilyasova; Doctor of Law, Professor Zhapar Smailovich Aldibekov; and Senior Lecturer Khavdal Kun-ai.
In their speeches, the presenters highlighted theoretical and practical aspects of international integration, outlined key directions for the development of cooperation among SCO member states in the field of customs, and stressed the importance of interuniversity and international academic collaboration.
Following the round table, participants expressed their readiness to further develop scientific dialogue and expand international cooperation.
