Kunaev University Delegation Visits Shaanxi Normal University (China).
From December 15 to 18, 2025, a delegation from Kunaev University paid an official visit to Shaanxi Normal University (SNU), one of China’s leading teacher-training and research universities, located in the historic city of Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.
The delegation, led by the Rector of Kunaev University, included:
Rector, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Zhazira Omirali;
Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Affairs and Academic Mobility, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Baktygul Kuanyshevna Ilyassova;
Head of the Department of International Relations and Academic Mobility, Sandugash Daukenovna Koshekova;
Vice-Rector for Research, PhD, Gulnapisa Zhandarovna Begazova;
Senior Lecturer Assel Gabdul-Gamidovna Nurkhanova.
The purpose of the visit was to establish sustainable partnership relations, exchange experience, and discuss prospects for further cooperation in the fields of education, science, and international academic programs. As part of the visit, meetings were held with the university leadership, staff of research centers, as well as experts in educational policy and legislation.
Shaanxi Normal University is a major public university founded in 1944 and subordinated to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It is among the country’s key universities and is well known for its strong academic programs in pedagogy, psychology, humanities, and natural sciences. The university also maintains an extensive international network of partner institutions in more than 100 countries.
During the visit, the Kunaev University delegation toured key academic units of the university, including the Institute of Marxism, specialized research centers, and both major SNU campuses. Special attention was paid to the Center for Research on Education Legislation, where the parties exchanged ideas and discussed current issues in the development of educational policy.
The delegation also took part in a campus tour, during which they became acquainted with the university’s educational infrastructure, research laboratories, libraries, and student spaces. This provided deeper insight into the Chinese approach to training future educators and professionals.
The visit resulted in concrete agreements on the development of joint activities, including exchange of experience in teacher education, participation in academic conferences, and the development of joint educational programs. This visit marked an important step toward strengthening educational and research ties between the two universities and enhancing international academic cooperation in the region.
