“KDM-connect” Event Held for First-Year Students at Kunaev University

On September 14, 2026, Kunaev University hosted an introductory event titled “KDM-connect” for first-year students. The event was dedicated to the activities of the University’s Committee for Youth Affairs and student clubs.

The main purpose of the event was to introduce first-year students to opportunities for extracurricular activities, student self-governance, and the university’s vibrant student club community. Students were provided with information about the key areas of the Committee for Youth Affairs, as well as an introduction to the seven student clubs currently operating at the university.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and Socio-Cultural Development, PhD, Dr. Dussebayev Talgat. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of students’ active participation in the university’s social, cultural, academic, and sports life.

During the event, the heads of the student clubs introduced their organizations and spoke about their key objectives, areas of activity, and the opportunities they provide for students to develop professional and personal competencies.

Seven student clubs currently operate at Kunaev University:

“Arbitrazh” — a debate club focused on developing critical thinking, public speaking skills, and the ability to present and defend opinions through well-reasoned arguments;

“A-club” — a scientific club that brings together students interested in research and academic activities;

“Kasclub” — a sports club that promotes a healthy lifestyle and supports the development of students’ athletic skills;

“Ashyk Zhurek” — a volunteer club focused on supporting social initiatives and promoting volunteerism among students;

“Zhastar Ruhy” — a law, public order, and safety club aimed at improving students’ legal awareness and fostering a culture of safety;

“Event” — a creative club that provides opportunities for students to develop and showcase their creative potential and organize cultural events;

“Umai” — a traditional dance club dedicated to preserving and promoting national cultural heritage through traditional dance.

The event was further enriched by creative performances from first-year students. They presented dance performances, demonstrating their talents and creative abilities.

The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and provided first-year students with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the university’s active student life, meet like-minded peers, and explore areas for their personal and professional development.

Participation in student club activities enables young people to discover and develop their talents, acquire new skills, implement their own initiatives, and contribute to the development of the university community.
