On April 21, 2026, Kunayev University hosted an international round table on “Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of the Legal Profession: New Challenges and Development Directions.”
The event was opened by the President of Kunayev University, Doctor of Law, Professor Zhalairi Omirali Shakarapuly, who emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming the legal system and the legal profession.
The round table was moderated by Elvira Omurchieva, Candidate of Law, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, International Relations, and Commercialization.
Distinguished guest speakers delivering welcome remarks included** Professor Rachel Moran, Director of Clinical Education at the School of Law, University of St. Thomas (USA), and Professor Oleg Zaitsev, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation. They shared valuable insights on the role of artificial intelligence in the legal field and international best practices.
During the event, participants discussed key issues related to the digital transformation of the legal field, the implementation of artificial intelligence in law enforcement practice, the improvement of legal regulation, and ethical challenges associated with AI technologies.
