Kunaev University Associate Professor Delivers Guest Lecture on Customs Affairs at Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University
On February 20, 2025, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, Rector of Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, warmly welcomed a delegation from Kunaev University, led by Rector Zhazira Omiralikyzy Omirali.
In his welcoming address, Rector Chontoev emphasized the strong academic and collaborative relationship between Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University and Kunaev University. He expressed particular gratitude for Kunanbayev University's support in educating specialists in the field of Customs Affairs.
Following the formal greetings, a guest lecture was organized for first and second-year students specializing in Customs Affairs. The lecture, titled "Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity and the Unified Customs Tariff of the EAEU," was delivered by Aynagul Yermekovna Ilyasova, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor of Konaev University.
Professor Ilyasova employed a presentation format to elucidate the critical aspects and significance of goods classification. She highlighted its ongoing relevance due to the direct correlation between classification codes and customs duty rates. The lecture addressed common challenges in determining classification codes and provided practical examples to demonstrate the application of the Notes and Explanatory Texts of the Unified Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The discussion generated considerable interest among the students and deepened their understanding of the subject's importance in the professional lives of customs officers.
