The staff of the department pays great attention to scientific student work, in connection with which, the department opened a scientific student circle "Criminalist" and a scientific student center "Current problems of law enforcement", under the leadership of PhD in Law, Associate Professor Zinkevich T.I., as a result of which students take part in various competitions: the annual Republican inter-university competition in forensic science, held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Republican inter-university competition "The best plaster cast of shoes ", the Republican inter-university competition "Modern possibilities of fingerprinting and fingerprint examination", the Republican inter-university competition "The best album of a forensic scientist", the international student forum "Current issues of modernization of the law enforcement and judicial systems in the Central Asian region", the forum "Modern criminal policy: results and prospects", the annual International competition of professional skills "The best experts in forensic science and forensic examination". The Public Safety Department regularly holds round tables, guest lectures with invitations to employees and representatives of law enforcement agencies, lectures to government agencies, conferences on current issues of criminal law, meetings with representatives of other universities, as well as other events of the Academy. The department regularly holds discussions of monographs, textbooks, diploma theses, master's theses, electronic textbooks, and other scientific works.
