Department of Criminal Law Disciplines and Law Enforcement is the leading, graduating department of the Eurasian Law Academy named after D.A. Kunayev, providing training in the following educational programs: "6B12301- Law enforcement activity", "6B04207 - Judicial and prosecutorial activity", "6B12301- Investigative and forensic activity", "6B04210 - IT - lawyer".

Teachers of the department conduct classes on the following basic and elective disciplines: "Criminal Law of the RoK (General and Special parts)", "Qualification of crimes in the economic and corruption sphere", "Criminal offenses against the person", "Practice on operative-search activity", "Practice of conducting forensic examinations in the criminal process", "Law enforcement activity of the RoK in the conditions of modernization", "Information systems in the sphere of law enforcement activity", "Criminalistic modeling and digitalization of the investigation process", "Conflictology and Mediation", "Practice of Proof in Criminal Proceedings", "Criminological Basis of Crime Control", "Criminalistics in Prosecutor-Investigative Activity", "Forensic Medicine and Psychiatry", "Workshop on Conducting Separate and Covert Investigative Activities", etc.

The teaching staff of the department consists of highly qualified specialists, the department is headed by Doctor of Law, Professor Umirbayeva Z.A. Such famous lawyers of Kazakhstan as Professors A.I. Novikov and I.B. Zinkevich took part in the formation and development of the department in their time. Currently, the department has a total of 29 lecturers, including 11 Candidates of Juridical Sciences, 6 Doctors of Juridical Sciences, 2 PhDs and 9 Masters of Juridical Sciences. The department has a number of renowned practicing lawyers: C.J.S, Associate Professor Terlikbayev К.Т., is a judge on criminal cases in District Court No. 2 of Bostandyk district of Almaty, M.J.S., Senior Lecturer Okapova G.N. is a lawyer with 20 years of experience, a member of the Almaty City Bar Association, a member of the Commission for the Protection of Professional Rights of Lawyers; C.J.S, Associate Professor Abdrakhmanov S.Т., retired police colonel; D.J.S., Professor Utibayev G.К. was the head of a department of the General Prosecutor's Office, State Counselor of Justice of the 3rd class; C.J.S., Professor, reserve colonel Aleskovskiy S.Y. is the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Association of Polygraphologists, Director of Almaty branch of the National School of Lie Detection; D.J.S, Professor Balashov Т.Т. is a member of the Almaty City Bar Association; as well as C.J.S., Associate Professor Varenikova S.P., was a researcher at the Kazakh Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the Kazakh SSR (Almaty) and the All-Union Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the USSR (Moscow).

The teaching staff of the department were awarded with state prizes, honorary titles, and diplomas for their works in the field of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. C.J.S., Associate Professor Akhmetova S.А. was awarded with the breastplate of "Y. Altynsarin" in 2013, was awarded with the title "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" for special services in the field of education in 2017. D.J.S, Professor Balashov Т.Т. was awarded with the breastplate "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan" in 2018. M.J.S., Senior Lecturer Belkhozhayeva D.Zh. was awarded with the breastplate of "Y. Altynsarin" in 2018. C.J.S., Associate Professor Varenikova S.P. awarded with the jubilee medal of the Constitutional Council of the RoK "10 years of the Constitution of Kazakhstan" in 2005, the medal of the UMS of the MES RoK "The best professor in the group of Law specialty" in 2014, the medal of the RoK ME "Teacher of the Year" in 2022. PhD, Associate Professor Dyusebayev Т.Т. was awarded with the breastplate "Excellent Educator of the Republic of Kazakhstan" in 2018. C.J.S., Professor Kazakeyeva S.S. was awarded with the breastplate of "Y. Altynsarin" in 2018, with breastplates "A. Baitursynov" and "KEMENGER USTAZ" in 2022. M.J.S., Senior Lecturer Okapova G.N. was awarded with the medal "For Contribution to the Development of the Bar" in 2022. D.J.S., Professor Utibayev G.К. was awarded with the Order of Kurmet in 2009, Certificate of Appreciation for "Successes achieved on the way to spiritual and social well-being of independent Kazakhstan and contribution to education" in 2018. D.J.S., Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines and Law Enforcement Activity Umirbayeva Z.А. was awarded with the breastplate "Honorary Lawyer of Kazakhstan".
