The training program "Public Safety" is the leading, graduating program of Kunaev University, which provides training in the following educational programs: "6B12301 - Law Enforcement Activity", and "6B12301 - Investigative and Forensic Activity". The teachers of the department conduct classes on the following basic and elective disciplines: "Criminal Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan (General and Special Parts)", "Qualification of Crimes in the Economic and Corruption Sphere", "Criminal Offenses against the Individual", "Practice of Operational Investigative Activities", "Practice of Conducting Forensic Examinations in Criminal Procedure", "Law Enforcement Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Context of Modernization", "Forensic Modeling and Digitalization of the Investigation Process", "Conflictology and Mediation", "Practice of Proof in Criminal Proceedings", "Criminological Foundations of the Fight against Crime", "Forensic Medicine and Psychiatry", "Practical Training in Conducting Individual and Covert Investigative Actions", etc. The teaching staff of the department consists of highly qualified specialists, the head of the department is Doctor of Law, Professor Z.A. Umirbaeva. The following well-known lawyers of Kazakhstan took part in the formation and development of the direction at one time: professors A.I. Novikov and I.B. Zinkevich. Currently, 28 teachers work in the direction, including 11 candidates of legal sciences, 5 doctors of legal sciences, 2 PhD doctors, and 9 masters of legal sciences. Well-known practicing lawyers work in the direction: M.Law, senior lecturer Okapova G.N. is a lawyer with 20 years of experience, a member of the Almaty City Bar Association, a member of the Commission for the Protection of Professional Rights of Lawyers, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor Abdrakhmanov S.T., retired police colonel, D.Law, Professor Utibayev G.K. was the head of the department of the Prosecutor General's Office, state justice adviser of the 3rd class, PhD in Law, professor, retired colonel Aleskovsky S. Yu. is the Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Association of Polygraph Examiners, director of the Almaty branch of the National School of Lie Detection, and also, PhD in Law, associate professor Varenikova S.P., was a research fellow at the Kazakh Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the Kazakh SSR (Almaty) and the All-Union Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of the USSR Ministry of Justice (Moscow).

The teaching staff of the direction have been awarded state prizes, honorary titles, and certificates for their work in the field of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Akhmetova S.A. was awarded the "Y. Altynsarin" badge in 2013, and the title of "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" for special services in the field of education in 2017. M. Law, Senior Lecturer Belkhozhaeva D.Zh. was awarded the "Y. Altynsarin" badge in 2018. Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Varenikova S.P. was awarded the jubilee medal of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan "10 Years of the Constitution of Kazakhstan" in 2005, the medal of the UMS MES RK "Best Professor in the Law Specialty Group" in 2014, and the medal of the RK PO "Zhyl Ustazy" in 2022. Candidate of Law, Professor Kazakeyeva S.S., was awarded the "Y. Altynsarin" badge in 2018, and the "A. Baitursynov" and "KEMENGER USTAZ" badges in 2022. M. Law, Senior Lecturer Okapova G.N. was awarded the medal "For Contribution to the Development of Advocacy" in 2022. Doctor of Law, Professor Utibayev G.K. was awarded the "Kurmet" Order in 2009, an honorary diploma for "Achievements Achieved on the Path to the Spiritual and Social Well-Being of Independent Kazakhstan and Contribution to Education" in 2018. Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines and Law Enforcement Activities Umirbayeva Z.A., was awarded the "Honorary Lawyer of Kazakhstan" badge.
